*sigh*
y'know i've been watching the BBC version of the Jane Austen Classic Pride and Prejudice for a long time. When i'm sick or tired, I put it on like one of pauls old sweaters and curl up with Mr Darcy and the lake scene at Pemberley... *sigh*
However since the lovely Mr Amazon sent my new DVD of the latest version I have realised that Colin Firth has been relegated to second place in my premiere league of classic movies. The scene where Elizabeth and Darcy meet at dusk is just *huge huge sigh* absolutly moving.
Note to self - must make husband read classic fiction in attempt to make more romance!

Has he really taken the place of Colin Firth for you??! To be fair I've only watched the new one once but for now it's the BBC version everytime
I've got more than one fav bit...
1) When Darcy & Elizabeth dance for the first time
2) Darcy at the lake
3) Elizabeth seeing Darcy after he's been in the lake and then him showing her around his house
4) When Elizabeth goes to Pemberley and they stare at eachother from across the room
Ahh, so romantic!
Hmmm I did enjoy the new version more than I ever expected but Colin Firth is still the best Mr Darcy for me, and I really liked the Elizabeth in the BBC version. Hmmmm I am thinking the film was really well done but the bbc version got there first and because of that I prefer it, it brings back memories for me of sitting in on a sunday evening with cheese on toast, the fire and and me and my mum sighing "Oh Mr Darcy"
Oh yeah....
Never seen it. :/
Oh my goodness, if I am ill - P and P always makes everything ok again.
sigh, it is such a lovely film. I also enjoyed the new version - but the old one wins it for me - as it is that bit longer for when you are laid up in bed!
Tom guys don't seem to get P&P so from a guys point of view you're not missing out.
It is such a lovely film though.
Maria's giving it from a guys point of view - I do worry about her sometimes lol ;)
ha ha ha - all your points considered and noted ... the dawn scene in the new one still moves me beyond the lake. sorry guys
